Corporate Personnel Resources, Inc. is Hiring a Fabrication Technician Near , AL

We are immediately recruiting for direct hire positions as Fabrication Technicians in the Pike County area. Relocation assistance is available! We are looking for multiple candidates falling into one of the 4 levels listed below.

Pay will start out between $21.00 - $36.00 per hour based on your experience level. They offer a Monday-Friday on either 1st shift 7am-4:30pm or 2nd shift 4:30pm-3am schedule.

Fabrication Tech 1:

  • Learn and understand S, Q, D, C, I concepts
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently in times of need/ requirement.
  • Assist tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development.
  • Review, understand, and follow standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
  • Identify and trouble shoot various problems (improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Functional knowledge of conventional manufacturing equipment.
  • Interpret technical prints (GD&T)
  • Must have basic knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code” and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience maintaining and changing tools
  • Experience determining offsets and adjusting accordingly
  • Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP)
  • 3-5 years of machining experience is preferred

Fabrication Tech 2:

  • Make suggestions, or comprehend activities associated with S, Q, D, C, I measures
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently in times of needs/ requirement. Comprehend and understand CNC machine tool methods and procedures.
  • Lead/participate in tool selection during the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development.
  • Troubleshoot new/existing CNC programs during set-up / prove-out of equipment.
  • Ability to understand and recommend changes to programs for multi-axis machines such as mill turns, verticals with additional axis,
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot conventional fabrication equipment. Such as lathes, mills, grinders, broaches, hones, etc.…
  • Comprehend and follow standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
  • Understand troubleshoot various problems (improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED - Vocational/Technical degree is preferred
  • Interpret technical prints (GD&T)
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code” and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience maintaining and changing tools
  • Experience with conventional manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience determining offsets and adjusting accordingly
  • Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP)
  • Ability and experience in CNC setup
  • 6-9 years of experience in machining is preferred

Fabrication Tech 3:

  • Implement and sustain S, Q, D, C activities
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently in times of needs/ requirement. Develop, sustain and improve CNC machine tool methods and procedures.
  • Suggest/optimizes machine tool speeds and feeds to maintain high manufacturing productivity, holding the required tolerances ( /- .0002”) and obtaining maximizing tool life.
  • Understand and comprehend CNC programs for 2 to 5-axis machines using SolidWorks, Mastercam and similar software. Understand and comprehend the best CNC method of manufacturing with regards to machine selection, fixtures and tooling
  • Suggest tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development.
  • Proficient in the use and implementation of conventional fabrication equipment. Such as lathes, mills, grinders, broaches, hones, etc…
  • Develop standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
  • Troubleshoot various problems (programming, improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators.
  • Understand datums and install fixtures (Datums, Tombstone, Plates
  • Operation of multiple machining centers (milling and lathe)
  • Monitoring and recording of part dimensions using Micro-Hite, slip and pin gauges.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED - Vocational/Technical degree is preferred
  • Understand technical prints (GD&T). Understand knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code” and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in simultaneous and effective operation of multiple CNC machines
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc Programming language including Macro B
  • Knowledge of metal machining. Ability to maintain and change tools.
  • Ability determining offsets and adjusting accordingly. Ability in the operation of conventional manufacturing equipment.
  • Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP)
  • Ability to perform first piece inspection using Height Gauge, Micrometer, and Caliper
  • 10-15 years experience in machining is preferred

Fabrication Tech 4:

  • Implement and sustain S, Q, D, C activities.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently in times of needs/ requirement. Develop, sustain and improve CNC machine tool methods and procedures.
  • Identify, assemble and set tooling on tool pre-setters and/or the CNC machines. Install, align and indicate fixtures / jigs or vises on machine tables.
  • Understand and utilize quick change systems for tombstones and pallets.
  • Prove out CNC programs utilizing machinist skills and best practices to prevent machine collision.
  • Mechanical inspection/ layout of parts to validate optimal set up. Perform NC code edits and record program changes into logbook. Record machine utilization to track machine efficiency. Execute good tool life management techniques.
  • Suggest/optimizes machine tool speeds and feeds to maintain high manufacturing productivity, holding the required tolerances ( /- .0002”) and obtaining maximizing tool life.
  • Understand and comprehend CNC programs for 2 to 5-axis machines using SolidWorks, Mastercam and similar software. Understand and comprehend the best CNC method of manufacturing with regards to machine selection, fixtures and tooling
  • Suggest tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development.
  • Proficient in the use and implementation of conventional fabrication equipment. Such as lathes, mills, grinders, broaches, hones, etc.
  • Develop standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
  • Troubleshoot various problems (programming, improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Identify and implement machine cycle time improvement initiatives. Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, sine plates, calipers, gages, indicators, visual inspection)
  • Teach and train others in the CNC department on all aspects of processes, inspections and tooling.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED - Vocational/Technical degree is preferred
  • Expert level of knowledge on how to operate CNC equipment. Understand technical prints (GD&T)
  • Understand knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code”, Macro’s and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens Controls
  • Ability to maintain and change tools. Ability to identify offsets and adjust accordingly. Strong knowledge and skills in the operation of conventional manufacturing equipment.
  • Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP).
  • Ability to perform first piece inspection using Height Gauge, Micrometer, Optical comparator, Sine plates and Calipers.
  • Ability to identify appropriate tooling in conjunction with corresponding operating conditions, i.e. speeds and feeds for stainless steel, carbon, and aluminum materials.
  • 10 or more years in a hands-on manufacturing process role including experience with conventional and CNC machining processes to include multi-axis horizontal and vertical milling machines. Strong preference for experience with Makino, Robodrill, Doosan, and SW.
  • 5 or more years of experience with CNC multi-axis turning with a strong preference for Doosan, Nakamura. Experience in simultaneous and effective operation of multiple CNC machines
  • Strong skills, knowledge and abilities of metal machining. Understanding of Renishaw probing
  • 10-15 years in machining is preferred
