Department Description

Jefferson Family Practice is located on Jefferson in Grosse Pointe Park. The number of physicians in this office is: 1.

This position is a working supervisor position which will require the supervisor to work alongside the staff as needed.

Position Summary

Supervises day-to-day operations of a physician practice.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Serves as a liaison between practice physicians and office employees, and between the practice and other clinical and administrative areas.

· Ensures that staffing is in place to meet the demands of the provider's work schedules.

· Develops and implements performance improvement projects that improve quality, efficiency of care, patient satisfaction, and positive outcomes.

· Assists with the development and implementation of a marketing plan for the practice and/or providers.

· Organizes and assigns duties to employees relating to all office clinical, clerical, and business functions.

· Schedules meetings for staff and physicians. Attends managers' meeting. Informs staff and physicians of changes in policies.

· Maintains efficient flow of work throughout the practice by enforcing procedures, scheduling, and patient flow. Initiates changes when necessary.

· Interviews, hires, terminates, and makes authoritative recommendations with regard to employment decisions in collaboration with Human Resources.

· Evaluates employee performance in accordance with Cornerstone Policy. When needed, coaches/mentors employees to improved performance.

· Coordinates all required trainings and documentation.

· Ensures compliance with established human resource and operational policies and procedures.

· Oversees and monitors the office billing and collection functions in collaboration with the Billing Department.

· In collaboration with the Finance Department, responsible for accounting, accounts receivable, collections and accounts payable. Maintains financial records and prepares reports as needed.

· Assists in meeting financial targets to increase productivity/revenue and reduce overall costs. Assists in monitoring and preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.

· In collaboration with operational leadership, assists in the development of growth strategies and business plans for the office and/or providers. Supports financial, budget, and business goals.

· Responsible for overseeing and monitoring defined metrics for the office and providers. Including billing and quality metrics.

· Responsible for overseeing and monitoring pay for performance initiatives determined by the insurance carriers for the office and providers.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

The qualifications/requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

- COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Within scope of job, this position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

- PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: N/A

- WORK EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of medical office experience with progressive responsibilities required. Previous medical office managerial experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
