Cornerstone Day Care Center (CDCC) was founded in 1968. We provide comprehensive integrated early childhood education programs and family support services to meet the needs of the families we serve.

Although our current location is small (capacity is 50 students), we are expanding operations in Brooklyn and are seeking a School Director to provide daily support to our new parents, teaching and support staff (10-15 staff members). The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Early Childhood Education, have worked for the NYC Board of Education and exhibit excellent time management, the ability to multitask, and strong leadership skills.

Sample Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Essential Functions:

Compliance and General Management - Lockdown Drills, Visitors and Vendors, Interim Food Handler, Tracks Parent Fees and dues and Fire Safety: monthly drills, F07, and S95 Certification

Manages Parent Community - Fee collection, communications (ClassDojo) manages calendar, parent notifications, field trips and PAC: Organizes monthly meetings, fundraising and activities and elections.

New Child Enrollment - Collecting Documentation and ensuring all students have up to date medicals, immunizations, etc.

Receptionist / Lobby Support

Afterschool Program Supervisor - Supervision of Teachers, Program Implementation, School Closer

Outreach Strategy - Online Engagement (FB and IG), Community Outreach

Food and Nutrition - Cook Supervision, Food Waste and Expiration, Menu Creation, Sanitation, cleanliness and organization

Inventory - Food, Cleaning Supplies, Office Supplies

IT Support - Computers, Security Monitors, Printer and Usage, Smartboards

Facilities - Maintenance management, repairs, locks and keys, daily safety checks, compliance, appliances, entrances and exits.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

Bachelors in Early Childhood Education *must be Birth to Five Certified

Preferred - at least 3 years administrative experience in Headstart/Early Childhood program with references ($5,000 bonus with experience)

Knowledge of and experience with Article 47, DOE, DOH, DOB and FDNY regulations

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailing

- Licensed New York City Department of Education Teacher (Early Childhood Certified)
- Proven experience as an School Director, Principle, AP or in a similar role
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Experience with data entry, transcribing, typing, and filing documents
- Familiarity with Outlook Calendar and phone systems
- Experience in calendar management and scheduling meetings/appointments
- Knowledge of QuickBooks
