The Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) cultivates the holistic growth and development of students through advocacy, empowerment, and education. We enhance the student experience by offering comprehensive support and resources, providing co-curricular opportunities, and fostering a sense of belonging.
The Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging (The Centers) supports the holistic development of the student experience by creating engagement opportunities, support services, and initiatives focused on belonging, equity, and inclusion. The Centers is comprised of identity-based centers and offices that support and empower students from historically marginalized backgrounds while also providing all Cornell community members with opportunities to deepen their understanding of racial justice and equity, expand their allyship skills, engage in dialogue across differences, and be a part of the movement for positive social change.

The Temporary Project Manager serves as the front-line staff member for The Centers, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all stakeholders that interact with and visit the office, including students, staff, and faculty. The Temporary Project Manager assists with coordinating day-to-day operations of the front desk and provides direct administrative support to the professional staff supporting FGLI programs and its initiatives including the Kessler Scholars Program, FGLI workshop series, and the First-Gen Celebration Week.


*Pay Rate: $25.00/hour*

  • Experience with handling confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively as part of a team on projects and assignments.
  • Experience with office software and web-based platforms, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Canva, Box, Zoom, Teams, CampusGroups, and Doodle.

*Position will require occasional evening and weekend hour availability*
