We are looking for full time Credentialed Veterinary Technicians to join our team.

The primary mission of our technicians is to provide optimal patient care, educate clients and peers, and offer premier customer service to CUVS clients. As a core member of the veterinary medical team, technicians will work closely with the assistants, doctors and other staff members to carry out the care and treatment of all patients in the hospital wards and outpatient service areas while being responsible for all aspects of patient care, as directed by the doctors. Technicians are also responsible for cleanliness, hygiene and stocking of the ECC department and all clinical areas, and any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/s, Clinical Services Manager, or CMO.

Technicians are expected to maintain the standards of care and adhere to protocols established within the hospital and will be expected to uphold the culture of learning and core values of CUVS through training and professional enhancement of skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities vary by department. They include but are not limited to:

  • Patient Assessment
  • Patient Care/Nursing Management
  • Patient Monitoring
  • Treatments
  • Client Service

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) working in a specialty practice
  • Animal handling experience and ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to complete all necessary technical procedures and treatments, while following department and hospital protocols

Physical Demands and Risks:

  • Ability to lift patients up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Walking, standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling
  • Stress associated with patient illness, death, and compassion-fatigue
  • Ability to restrain patients for examination or procedures
  • Ability to recognize and appropriately handle fractious patients
  • Exposure to zoonotic diseases

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
