We are actively recruiting a Senior Designer to be a part of our collaborative and innovative firm in our Aviation market sector. This Creative team is currently working on high-end airport private lounges and clubs and is looking for someone with hospitality experience interested in applying that toward high design of these spaces as well as national and international terminal interiors work. Great opportunity for a highly motivated designer who wants to show their creative side with challenging projects in an innovative work environment.

This designer will work under the direction of the Project Design Manager to generate and develop exceptional design solutions and options for our Aviation studio in out Dallas office. This role will collaborate with other designers in the studio to maintain the firm design and brand objectives. Candidates will be studio champions for sustainable design techniques. This role will entail generating multiple solutions for any given client driven program and sharing the work for critique and input from design leaders and peers. This position will also have opportunities for potential travel. 

Responsibilities

• Generating creative design solutions within the functional parameters of a project
• Translating concepts and information into images
• Collaborate with studio to maintain design excellence in all projects with the direction of the Project Design Manager
• Demonstrate knowledge of resources and materials and their application
• Attend early consultant meetings and understand the coordination required between disciplines and as it applies to the design of the space
• Become familiar with the coordination required to realize the design intent by attending consultant meetings during SD and DD phases
• Is familiar with major relevant codes as they impact design decisions and work with the Project Design Manager to ensure code compliance in design work
• Is familiar with all the major building material technologies we use and seeks out new and innovative systems to recommend on a regular basis
• Attend client meetings and may be called upon to present work

Qualifications

Qualified designers exhibit these strengths and talents:

• Displays strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design
• Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
• 8 years of experience in commercial design; aviation and/or hospitality experience strongly preferred
• Revit proficiency
• Interest in sustainable design
• Professional registration or anticipation of registration
• Strong communication skills
• Flexible attitude
• Ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment
• Demonstrated ability to translate design concepts and information into images
• Confident presentation ability
• Enjoy travel
