To support our rapid growth, we’re seeking a dynamic Senior Counsel. 

Reporting to the General Counsel you will become a collaborative member of the CoreTrust legal team and will focus on managing member and supplier group purchasing responsibilities and advise on and handle other strategic legal matters in support of the company. You will be relied upon to help the organization make sound and strategic decisions, while ensuring legal compliance in a competitive industry. The successful candidate will have broad exposure throughout the company and will work with clients in all lines of business and at all levels. This position requires someone with intellectual curiosity and vision to anticipate procurement trends and the impact on the practice of law. Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to numerous operational leads on a wide variety of transactional matters
  • Negotiate, draft, and review a wide variety of complex procurement agreements, and spanning numerous subject areas and lines of business
  • Focus on supporting the product, sourcing, and member teams by serving as a key legal advisor and relationship manager, advising on relevant regulatory and compliance issues, supporting routine transactions, and leading the legal work on more complex procurement arrangements
  • Support general transactional needs, including drafting and negotiating technology acquisitions, licensing, and implementation agreements, a broad range of consulting arrangements, data use and sharing agreements, and support to various business teams, to name just a few
  • Exhibit expert legal knowledge and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining strong internal client relationships
  • Strong ability to constructively negotiate a wide variety of legal agreements and complete other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience practicing law, with a combination of law firm and in-house work preferred
  • Highly developed analytical legal skills
  • Demonstrated skill in managing, coordinating, and driving a full contract cycle, including the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, the integration of applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, where relevant, and an ability to translate the same to non-lawyers
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects, and effectively manage client needs and competing priorities
  • Experience supporting commercial and procurement contracting, with a preference for an understanding of how best to advise on group purchasing contracting strategies, management, and drafting
  • Ability to support drafting and negotiation of a wide range of complex commercial and supply-chain-related agreements, taking primary responsibility for managing internal client requests and go-to-market timelines and expectations
  • Ability to handle a broad range of transactional matters for internal clients, as well as providing strategic advice and counsel on a range of business issues and policy and operational matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a collegial and collaborative approach to advising - diplomatically and with a presence
  • Educational requirement: J.D. with excellent credentials from an ABA-accredited, nationally recognized law school, M.B.A. preferred but not required.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and eligible to become licensed as in-house counsel in Tennessee
  • Nashville-based or open to relocation to Nashville strongly preferred
