Position Overview

As a Horizontal Construction Intern for Treehouse Builders, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of horizontal land development projects. The ideal candidate will be a Junior in studying Construction Management with a passion for real estate and homebuilding. This internship will be onsite in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in project planning, execution, and completion under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Collaborate with on-site teams to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Gain exposure to field operations, including site surveys, measurements, and quality control.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive project status reports.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard software and tools for project management, design, and documentation.
  • Utilize digital platforms for data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in safety meetings and site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of safety measures on construction sites.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and subcontractors, fostering effective communication.
  • Attend team meetings and actively contribute to discussions.
  • Work on real-time problem-solving scenarios to develop practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with the team to address challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Engage in continuous learning opportunities, workshops, and training sessions provided by experienced professionals.
  • Seek guidance and mentorship to enhance your skills in horizontal construction.
  • Build professional relationships within the construction industry through networking events and interactions with industry experts.
  • Attend relevant seminars and conferences to broaden your understanding of horizontal construction practices.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary as needed
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
  • Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation

Ideally, you'll have

  • Junior studying Construction Management or related field
  • General knowledge of real estate and construction principles
  • Ability to work onsite in the Dallas-Fort Worth area

You'll crush it if you have experience with

  • Experience with Excel, SmartSheets, Brix, Word, Powerpoint
  • Highly motivated, organized, and determined individual with an eagerness to learn
