We are hiring a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor (Spare Parts) to join our growing organization!

Qualifications


General Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day shipping & receiving operations which will include but not limited to the following: Pick, pack, and ship. Inspects, packs, then seals, and processes through UPS machine. Unloads trucks, inspects incoming goods, validates quantities, receives purchase orders, unpacks palletized goods then sorts each boxed part and places in assigned location.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned departments and order flow processes, to properly set the daily work schedule for all stations; picker, QC-packer/shipper and receiving team.
  • Follow up with customers regarding order status either through email or phone call.
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues causing delays in deliveries.
  • Diagnose process and quality issues to achieve production goals and make improvement recommendations to their supervisor.
  • Processing and delivering incoming shipments, overnight packages, and interoffice mail to appropriate departments.
  • Loading and unloading deliveries, assisting with material movement, and sorting and stocking.
  • Ensure accurate parts picked and quantities through QC process of the orders before being packed, final QC of all shipments.
  • Manage and follow through on work orders, inventory transfers, and packing material replenishments to maintain proper inventory levels and to ensure daily shipment percentages are met.
  • Responsible for the overall Shipping/Receiving Departments cleanliness. All aisles must be free of parts and clean at the end of the day.
  • Responsible for managing inbound and outbound reports; stage pick, release to warehouse, available staging, SPI, FGI, QC-RMA and RTV.
  • Scheduling inbound containers, updating inbound shipping log.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by department manager.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Ability to lead teams and delegate responsibilities.
  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments. 
  • Be able to work multiple processing stations.
  • Responsible for his/her own quality of workmanship. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Self-motivated reliable team player. Must be dependable, on time.
  • English speaking preferred (speak and writing/reading).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn new skills and behaviors.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 -5 years’ experience in a fast paced, high-volume warehouse/shipping/receiving operation preferred. At least 1 year experience in a lead role preferred.
  • Completion of High School or equivalent.
  • Must have experience, knowledge and/or exposure to computers, MSWord, Excel, and Outlook. Oracle experience (focused on Warehouse responsibilities) a must.
  • Experience with a WMS (Warehouse Management System). Oracle preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.

  • Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the warehouse, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface.
  • The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy.
  • Doors near the department are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
  • Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions.
  • May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges.
  • Passing forklifts emit gas fumes.
  • Tools, supplies, and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials.
