CORE Construction Services of Illinois, Inc is seeking a Project Accountant in our Peoria, IL office. The Project Accountant will work in the accounting department and will work closely with Project Managers. Specific job duties will include:
1. Create monthly invoices for construction projects and post the invoices into the accounting system.
2. Process subcontractor payments and post payments into the accounting system
3. Collect and review for accuracy the lien waivers for job related payments
4. Respond and communicate with subcontractors and vendors on payment status
5. Perform various other general accounting tasks
Pay will be commensurate with skills and experience.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Must possess the highest level of integrity and a positive attitude
2. At least four years of experience in invoicing and accounts payable accounting
3. Ability to juggle multiple duties and consistently meet deadlines
4. Ability to recognize problems and communicate the problems to the appropriate personnel
5. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
6. Strong computer skills including MS Office applications. Must be familiar with MS Excel.
7. Strong communication skills and work cooperatively with others
Desired Skills & Experience
1. Proficiency in Vista by Viewpoint accounting software and Textura Payment Management.
2. College degree preferred, but not necessary
3. Previous experience with lien waiver collection and review
4. Previous experience in construction accounting
