Note: the ideal candidate will live in Kelowna and manage the Kootenay Region. This role is 3 days a week. Position Summary Under the direction of the BC Sales Manager, the District Manager (part-time) is accountable for maintaining and managing the relationships with several existing accounts, mainly Retail Stores, and some On Premise accounts, as well as developing new business opportunities in their region. This position will cover both the East and West Kootenay, including cities such as Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, Rossland, Creston, Cranbrook, Kimberly, and Fernie. The candidate for the position can reside in any of these locations. Duties and Responsibilities Promotes and increases sales within territory through execution of national and regional marketing strategies while working with company policies, resources and budgets Increases overall distribution of core and agency brands in liquor board retail stores, private liquor stores, and some licensees Develops sales objectives and oversees activities at all retail outlets Manages new product launches Executes merchandising and promotional programs as per national and regional strategies Completes call account tracking and administrative reports Manages advertising and promotion budget within fiscal allocations as outlined by regional office Functions cooperatively and effectively within a team environment; contributes to overall team objectives and dynamics Performs other duties, as required Preferred Education and Experience Some sales and / or merchandising and / or customer service experience Wine and spirits sales/merchandising/service experience is an asset Required Competencies Market and Environment: Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of the business landscape and environment evolutions (legal, supply chain, tools…); key players (competitors, other consumer brands companies, key customers, …); distribution channels – including their distinct go to market strategies – and category trends, to maximize business opportunities Portfolio Brands & Products: Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of Pernod Ricard’s brands and their positioning within the competitive landscape to be able to coordinate portfolio and channel strategy, and to offer adequate solution to stakeholders (customers, consumers, opinion leaders, international distributors, internal stakeholders) Drive for Sales Results: Ability to assess, recommend, implement, and evaluate effectiveness of commercial activities (sales force, promotion, account investments,) in order to optimize commercial performance and ensure excellence in execution Negotiation Skills: Ability to manage customers’ needs and requests through appropriate negotiation cycle & techniques, to achieve Pernod Ricard’s objectives. Influencing & Networking: Ability to establish and develop mutually beneficial and trusting business relationships with key internal / external stakeholders, through cooperation, integrity and with strong interpersonal & presentation skills Analytical Thinking: Ability to consider all appropriate information, break things down and determine cause and effect relationships to make effective recommendations and develop operational actions Organization & Planning: Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage efficiently time and resources to track and optimize the activity in a changing environment Other Skills Required: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft office Self-motivated and self-directed Strong time management and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy Team player Ability to spend a large portion of the day on foot, lifting weights of up to 50 lbs Travel required (overnight about 25% of the time); ability to drive long distances at a time (3-5 hours) Must have a personal vehicle able to accommodate POS materials and a valid driver’s license Compensation: 3 days/week x 8 hours a day (24 hours per week). Wage is $21.22/hour, plus $75/day in vehicle allowance. Vacation pay is 4% added to each pay.
