Copper State Credit Union is Hiring a Banking System Administration Near Phoenix, AZ

As a Core Applications Specialist you will:

  • Serve as first line support for the credit union’s core system and assigned applications.
  • Assist with monitoring the daily core systems, incident and problem tracking, keeping the Core Systems Manager apprised of any new or updates on existing incidents.
  • Maintain the credit union’s service desk for core systems including maintaining updates, notes and status information to demonstrate issues are in production and moving towards resolution.
  • Routinely work with vendors on troubleshooting reported issues and escalate issues as appropriate. Consistently follow-up with vendor until the issue is resolved.
  • Research problems as they arise and assist the Core Systems Manager in implementing resolutions when necessary.
  • Works with automation software to streamline business processes for assigned applications.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing.
  • Maintain a change management process to ensure proper tracking of changes.
  • Proactively identify and initiate process improvements and document potential problems and resolutions.
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance as assigned by management.

Skills/ Requirements

  • Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education or general education degree (GED). Some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations for resolution.
  • Ability to independently make and act upon decisions that support department credit union goals, objectives, and philosophy.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar or related field.
  • Proficiency in PC software applications in a Windows environment including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Must have a good understanding of information systems structures, processes, and protocols to provide sound organizational support. Core financial platform administration experience is preferred. Process improvement experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with data query/data management tools preferred (SQL, Business Objects).
  • Proven ability to build consensus, provide leadership, and work effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Professional well developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills essential for servicing credit union members and projecting a positive image as representative for the credit union. Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on commitments.
  • Requires sound and accurate judgment. Ability to independently make and act upon decisions that support department and credit union goals, objectives, and philosophy. Requires a high level of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness in order to properly evaluate situations and make recommendations. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and can support and explain reasoning for decisions.
  • Requires excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills, ability to listen to the needs of others and promote appropriate credit union products and services.
