Are you passionate about mechanics and eager to gain hands-on experience with a diverse fleet of vehicles? Join us as a Fleet Services Intern and immerse yourself in the mechanics and operations of various vehicles and equipment.
As an intern, you'll collaborate with our skilled technicians, learning through direct involvement in daily maintenance and repair tasks. You'll work on a wide range of vehicles, from light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks to police vehicles, ambulances, fire apparatus, and unique off-road equipment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and safety equipment checks. You'll also learn to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems under the guidance of seasoned professionals.
Additionally, you'll perform inspections and preventive maintenance, help keep the workshop organized and stocked, and follow safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on skills and receive mentorship from experienced automotive and diesel technicians. 18 Years of Age or Older
High School Diploma/GED
Valid State of Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Basic knowledge of engines and automotive systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Good analytical skills.
Ability to operate shop equipment such as Tire changers, Tire balancers, and Vehicle Lifts.
Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from senior mechanics.
Physical fitness and stamina to stoop, crawl, work lying down, lift heavy machinery, and work in various weather conditions.
