Job Summary

As a member of the Copa Health Integrated Substance Recovery Program, the Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment Specialist works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary care team to identify, assess, and provide stage-wise engagement, persuasion, active treatment, and relapse prevention/management services in individual and group formats for persons with alcohol, tobacco and other substance use involvement. Models co-occurring disorders treatment and engagement skills and assists in training other care team staff in evidence-based practice for persons with co-occurring disorders. 

Who We Need
We’re looking for someone with the following skills, experience and credentials: 
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with service participants for the purpose of reaching appropriate treatment goals and maintains professional relationships with clinical care teams and medical staff, involved family members/guardians, and external customers.
  • Provides services consistent with Copa Health policies and productivity standards. Services include: screening, assessment, engagement, persuasion, active treatment and relapse prevention interventions in group and individual formats, consistent with the Copa Health chosen curriculum.
  • Provides coordination of care and staffing support with care teams; meets regularly with treating medical staff to review individual progress and provide recommendations consistent with a stage-wise treatment approach.
  • Conducts outreach consistent with Copa Health program standards to ensure participants remain engaged in the Integrated Substance Recovery Program.
  • Develops stage-wise assessments and service plans for integrated co-occurring interventions consistent with program standards. Conducts reviews of progress every 60 days and provides status updates to the Program Director and care team. Identifies and implements program strategies for non-responders. 
  • Completes required documentation in a timely manner to include: receipt of referrals, consent for counseling at first session, release of information for co-occurring treatment, documentation of counseling and participant contact, weekly/monthly/60 day progress reports, and discharge plans consistent with program standards and policies.
  • Meets all requirements of ABBHE to maintain appropriate licensure, or to meet supervision requirements for independent licensure
  • Adherence to all agency policies, licensure, and training requirements.
  • Seeks supervision/consultation as needed to ensure appropriate provision of effective services. Participates in fidelity monitoring for Integrated Treatment for Persons with Co-Occurring Disorder and incorporates results into program and practice.
  • Assists in training clinical care teams in the principles and practices of the Integrated Co-Occurring Disorder model.
Job requirements 
  • Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health field (Counseling, Social Work, Psychology)
  • One year of full-time experience (i.e. internship and work experience) in the behavioral health field required.
  • Licensed with the AZBBHE license, i.e., Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC.
  • Must have a fingerprint clearance card issued by Arizona Department of Public Safety or eligible to receive within eight (8) weeks of hire.
  • TB Test clearance required at the time of hire and annually. 
  • Working with adults with SMI and co-occurring substance use conditions using an integrated treatment approach.
