Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead 2nd Shift Maintenance professional to join our team. As the Lead Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations and ensuring the efficient functioning a Tier 1 automotive plant located in Boiling Springs, SC. This is a leadership role that requires the ability to teach and lead mechatronics apprentices with a strong technical knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a 2nd shift team of maintenance technicians and apprentices, providing guidance, training, and support
- Identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks
- Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as needed, including troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders and manage inventory
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Fabricate or weld components as necessary to complete repairs or modifications
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among team members
Experience:
- Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, mechanical systems, and general facility maintenance
- Proficiency in using CMMS software for work order management and inventory control
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience with welding or fabrication is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team and teach apprentices
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality maintenance services
