Job Title: Architect I

Job Summary:

The Architect I is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions. Under the direction of the Project Architect or Project Manager, the Architect I is competent in all conventional aspects of architecture and the production of high-quality project design, as well as documentation on time and within budget

Cooper Carry is comprised of highly-specialized, multi-disciplinary studios, with a mixed-use mindset. Our multi-disciplinary studios include Senior Living, Experiential Graphic Design , Government, Higher Education, Hospitality, Interior Design, International, K-12 Education, Landscape Architecture, Mixed-Use, Office Workplace, Residential, Restaurants, Retail, Science Technology, The Johnson Studio, Transit TOD, and Urban Design Planning.

Requirements:

  • Registered Architect.
  • Graduate of an accredited architectural program with Bachelor's level degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and documentation.
  • Strong design and technical skills.
  • Experience in one or more of the our studio disciplines listed above.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Adhere to Cooper Carry and the Client guidelines and meets deadlines within budget for each project.
  • Maintain knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources.
  • Demonstrate architectural skills to include drawing, rendering, visual and presentation skills utilizing internal resources.
  • Communicate with team, clients and consultant/contractor representatives effectively.
  • Demonstrate competency with required computer software to produce complete high-quality drawings.
  • Assist Project Architect in coordinating necessary tasks for a variety of projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of all project related assignments.
  • Prepare and produce drawings, design and construction documents.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Complete research as needed.
  • Participates as appropriate in contract administration.
  • Guides less experienced Designers.
  • Travel to Project Job Site or Design Office as required to facilitate design and construction under the direction of the Project Architect.
  • Contribute as required to the overall quality and success of the project, studio and firm.
