Acadia SUP / Sand Beach Surf Co., located in downtown Bar Harbor, ME is seeking a Customer Service Associate and / or Bike Mechanic to work in our 2 downtown retail locations.

We offer a fun and casual place to work. Applicants must be able to stay through at least the end of September.

At Acadia SUP and Sand Beach Surf Co. we take customer service seriously. As a niche surf and e-bike rental shop, we are eager to share our passion, and expert knowledge of the area and our products with our customers.

We are looking for people who not only love the surf, skate, and paddle lifestyle but live it and want to encourage others to live it as well.

Our mission is simple. Inspire people to get outdoors, encourage safe water practices, promote proper stewardship of our waterways, give VIP level customer service, and provide quality products at reasonable prices.

Job requirements / qualifications :

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Detail oriented and able to work without supervision for large portions of the day
• Excellent spoken English
• Personable and fun personality who enjoys working with people
• Proactive attitude with a desire to grow and learn about products
• Able to follow directions, multi-task, and communicate problems
• Ability to lift / move up to 35-50 lbs over your head.
• All shop positions include weekend, evening, and holiday work

Strong preference will be given to applicants who also have some skill in basic bicycle maintenance, repair, and assembly and are :

• Able to quickly diagnose bicycle related issues and perform basic repairs and tune ups.
• Familiar with and comfortable working on a variety of bikes with older and newer technologies including disc / hydraulic brakes, and a basic knowledge of electric bike hub motors and and general maintenance

Compensation / Benefits :

• Hourly wages starting at $17 per hour, DOE
• Employee Housing in a shared staff apartment. (This apartment is out of town so you must have transportation)
