POSITION OVERVIEW: Oversees and manages all day-to-day operations surrounding the youth experience in our North Minneapolis and St. Paul bakery. This will include developing and facilitating training courses on bakery processes and employment development. Scheduling, attendance tracking, data entry, onboarding youth staff into the bakery, and developing daily work plans that fulfill the mission and bakery production needs of Cookie Cart. This position will work with the Bakery Operations and Bakery supervisors to ensure that the youth we serve gain a fulfilling experience in a safe and inclusive bakery setting.

Youth Service Requirement:

· Assist, mentor, and cooperate with youth to encourage professional development.

· Mentor and coach young adults and/or bakery production team on youth development.

· Model a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality. Provide deliberate and practical feedback to participants to foster continuous development within an employment training setting.

· Set appropriate boundaries with participants, staying focused on the program's mission and goals.

· Respond to challenging situations with composure and good judgment, modeling professional employment behaviors.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and facilitate hands-on and classroom training modules focused on bakery operations, including food safety, customer service, bakery safety, inventory, mixing, recipe development, decorating and packaging.

· Collaborate and coordinate with bakery staff to create a positive and inclusive daily workplan for youth staff.

· Conduct regular safety inspections of bakery equipment and workspaces, addressing any hazards.

· Facilitate group discussions with youth employees to get regular feedback on their experience within the bakery experience.

· Develop and implement training and coaching plans around the development of soft skills and other professional development opportunities in bakery experience.

· Ability to fill in a bakery production role as needed.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Youth Development, or a related field preferred, but not required.

· 1-2 continuous years of previous experience, skills, or training in working with youth/young adults.

· Previous experience in bakery setting, with a knowledge of industry best practices is plus.

· Serv Safe certified or completed within 3 months of hire.

· Ability to motivate and aid in the professional development of participants through knowledge of recruitment and employment practices, such as current practices in writing a resume, job search, job application, and interview skills.

· Ability to pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check.

· Valid Minnesota driver’s license, clean driving record, and an insured vehicle for transportation to community partner sites and transportation of participants.

· Enthusiasm, flexibility, positive attitude, self-starter, and a commitment to youth development

· Ability to work as part of a larger team to complete various tasks.

· Ability to effectively communicate with staff, youth, parents, and community members.

· Experience in delivery of training materials and group presentations.

· Comfortable speaking in front of groups, particularly in a training environment.

· Ability to comfortably work with diverse populations.

· Ability to take initiative.

· Ability to use conflict resolution skills effectively.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

· Experience with Workforce One, Salesforce, or similar databases.

WORK SCHEDULE

We are looking for two qualified coordinators - one for each location!

Minneapolis: 1119 West Broadway Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411

St. Paul: 946 Payne Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55130

This role is full-time 32-40 hours per week and has a standard schedule of Sunday-Thursday. Cookie Cart's standard program hours are from 3:30PM-7:30PM, during the school year and 10AM-4PM during the summer. However, this role plays a key responsibility in the mission which requires you to flex some of your time with the youth's time. You will be required as needed to work earlier than the start time on certain days work some later evenings (e.g., for org events) and weekends as needed.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 11am-7:30pm (youth will be in bakeries from 4pm-7/7:30pm)

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays: 8:30am-4:30pm (may be different depending on whether a few youth will attend or not on these days)
