Customer Service Insurance Agent

JOB SUMMARY: Our primary goal at Cooke Insurance Agency is assisting our customers with their insurance needs. We are looking for a bright, talented, friendly, energetic person who enjoys working with customers in person, on the phone and by email.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop positive working relationships with customers
• Respond to customers’ questions and complaints
• Answer and respond to phone calls and emails
• Assist with all list mailings which include but are not limited to: folding, stuffing, labeling, postage, etc.
• Explain the differences in policy specifics so customers can make informed decisions about their policies
• Process and submit payments
• Claims handling and submission
• General office/clerical duties

SKILLS NEEDED:

• P & C license required or willing to obtain
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Pleasant telephone manner
• Ability to explain concepts to customers so that they understand them fully
• Team player
• High School Diploma or GED and some college preferred
• 1-3 years customer service experience preferred
• Computer experience and proficiency with Word, Outlook, client database software and able to learn new insurance software programs

The hours are 8:45am to 5pm with one hour for lunch Monday to Friday. You will be paid for a 7.25 hour work day which is 36.25 hours a week.

After working 3 months we offer benefits including health insurance with prescription, vision and dental plans. Currently, we pay 100% of the premiums.

After 3 years of employment, we contribute to a retirement account for employees.
