Job Brief:

The Parts Technician will provide customer service to a client by responding to questions about specific parts and/or completes the order process for new or replacement parts for the project or job. This role is also responsible for ensuring orders are accurate, compiled in a timely fashion and has the field technician and customer as a main focus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Check inventory availability and place parts order. If required, source and obtain price quotes from catalogues and suppliers if inventory is not available.
  • Assist with picking and preparing/staging orders for technicians from various locations which included the warehouse, cold storage and yard.
  • Confirm job order vs. stock order when required with technician.
  • Ensure billing is accurate and verified prior to sending invoice to customer.
  • Work and communicate effectively with the Inventory Control team in regards to physical inventory, help perform spot checks, counts, and assist with warehouse organization as needed.
  • Work and communicate effectively with Service Administrators to ensure material is billed correctly and on time.
  • Work with the Manager of Inventory Control to maximize purchases on rebate accounts.
  • Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping, prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or electronically, pack goods to be shipped with identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances.
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
  • Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
  • Maintain internal, manual, or computerized record-keeping systems.
  • May perform occasional material deliveries to customer locations and material pickups from vendors using company vehicle.
  • Work with vendors to ensure returns are completed in a timely manner
  • Take part in daily housekeeping of warehouse and yard.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
  • On-Call rotation (weekends/evenings).

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • List all required skills and abilities necessary to preform the role.
  • May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
  • Manual dexterity (ability to perform lifting, climbing, bending, carrying items).
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System (IFS) an asset.
  • Experience with Instrumentation, Electrical and Automation parts considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Oil and Gas service industry considered an asset.
  • Solid written and verbal comprehension.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong time management; Ability to work independently.
  • Customer service focused; Good interpersonal skills; Ability to establish and maintain rapport with suppliers, customers, technicians, management and team mates.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule (stat holidays, weekends, overtime as required, scheduled on-call).
  • Valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver s License.
  • Commitment to safety; Participation in Company provided safety training and meetings.
  • Forklift Training Certificate; Standard First Aid/CPR with AED; H2S considered an asset.

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Courses towards the Parts Technician Trade would be considered an asset.
