HR Generalist - Payroll Assistance and Benefits - Miami, FL

Continental Heavy Civil Corp, located in Miami, Florida has an opening for an HR Generalist.

We are seeking an experienced HR generalist with a specialization in payroll and benefits administration to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing payroll processes, administering employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the U.S. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels. As an integral part of the HR team, the HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting our organization's mission and goals by providing comprehensive HR support to our team members.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

HR Support:

  • Provide general HR support to team members and management, including addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and facilitating HR processes.
  • Assist projects with onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives, such as conducting management team member engagement and policy development events.
  • Participate in HR-related meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed about best practices and industry trends.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer team member benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Assist team members with enrollment, changes, and termination of benefits and coverage.
  • Coordinate with benefit providers to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Communicate benefit information to team members and provide guidance on available options and resources.
  • Administration of leave includes parental leave, short- and long-term disability, etc.
  • Working with the safety officer on incident reports, worker compensation, administration, and tracking.

Assist Payroll Administration:

  • Assist payroll processes, including processing payroll, reviewing timesheets, and ensuring the accuracy of team member data.
  • Assist in calculating and processing payroll deductions, such as taxes, insurance premiums, and retirement contributions.
  • Assist with payroll-related inquiries from team members and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on payroll regulations and compliance requirements to ensure accurate and lawful payroll processing.
  • W2 administration and distribution
  • Responsible for the preparation of records of employment (ROEs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on payroll and benefits administration.
  • Strongly understand hiring and firing regulations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CPHR) is a plus.
  • Payroll and Benefits Knowledge in the U.S.
