Continental Construction is Hiring an Expeditor Near Savannah, GA
Position: EXPEDITOR
Job Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and inventorying jobsite deliveries along with general QA/QC responsibilities.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate and unload material in a timely manner.
- Communicate with logistic companies to schedule deliveries.
- Receive shipments and verify deliveries.
- Record deliveries in database for later use.
- Review SDS and notify appropriate personnel of any special requirements.
- Work with Project Superintendent to organize laydown areas.
- Work with Project Superintendent on release of inventory.
- Review inventory and checklist with supervisors notifying supervisors of material shortages.
- Consult with client representative for additional requirements.
- If the project site is within an existing facility, consult with the Owner on specific delivery requirements.
- Inspect fabricated steel upon arrival for visual check of paint quality, weld appearance and quality of fabrication work. Note any damage from shipment. Document visual findings and notify the Project Superintendent and Project Manager of any problems.
- Coordinate with supervisors on heavy lifts or critical deliveries.
- Hourly position, benefits, pay.
- Must have valid TWIC card.
- Must meet qualifications for DISA program.
- Previous experience in logistics.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications and other construction documents.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends).
- Must be at least 18 years of age, pass drug screen and background check.
