IT Product Design Engineer 3 (UX Designer)

12-24 month contract

This contract worker comprehensively identifies, documents, and demonstrates the optimal user experience through design activities/deliverables, which are aligned with the business requirements and solution scope. This individual works with a variety of software development teams, crosses disciplines and business domains, has well-developed leadership qualities, and provides leadership and strategy on discipline trends. The role of the user experience designer is complementary to and synergistic with the role of the business and functional analysts.
This team's only focus is designing experiences for users in the North America-Europe and Middle East homelands.

Responsibilities

• Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge and application in all the following competencies and expert in at least two: Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Usability Engineering, Visual Design, Prototype Engineering
• Plans and conducts assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or more than one project.
• Assists with the review and evaluation of personnel performance, progress, and results
• Evaluates progress and results and recommends major changes in procedures
• Operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed action or decision
• Encourages a culture of user-centered design and knowledge sharing
• Mentors discipline competencies
• Leads communication visually through drawings, diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, flow charts, etc.
• Leads in user testing and validation to ensure that the user experience of the end product meets the original intent and is of the highest possible quality

  • Family Tree Onboarding and SEO
  • Family Feed Integration
  • Russian Localization
  • Controlled Edit Tree Integration and Testing
  • Get Involved (Tree building projects)

Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience

Work Experience:

• 4 years of relevant professional experience

Required Skills:

• Completely fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English AND reading/writing in Arabic
• Understanding of solid design principles, user flows and being able to execute high-quality designs
• Prototyping skills
• Ability to communicate clearly to other designers and work along side with the dev-lead and product manager for the this team.
• Experienced in working with agile teams
• Portfolio required with resume

Bonus Skills:

• General interest and actively engaged in family history work and familiar with FamilySearch.org
• Familiar with and designing design systems
• Low onboarding time. Be able to get hired hit the ground running.

Worthiness Qualifications:
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
