Job SummaryThe primary function of this position is for any and all aspects of welding, with a secondary function of minor maintenance and repair, on fleet vehicles and equipment. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Be able to weld in any aspect with various welding equipment provided in the fleet garage, including using an oxy-acetylene outfit for cutting purposes.

Design, fabricate, and repair a variety of metal work.

Perform minor repair and maintenance on fleet vehicles.

Performs all work in accordance with schedules, policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; and
• Two years of experience in welding with working knowledge of the use and care of arc welding equipment, acetylene torches, grinders, and other tools of the welding trade; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid driver's license. Must be insurable.

Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to climb in/out of heavy equipment.
• Must be flexible regarding work schedule.
