Construction Project Management Services, Inc. is Hiring a Construction HR Director - CM - General Contractor Near Detroit, MI
We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to oversee our regional operation in Detroit, MI. We provide construction management, program management and general contracting services throughout the Midwest from our Detroit location. The position will be the top executive HR role and reports to the president. Although we prefer an experienced executive we are open to an up and comer who is ready to take his or her career to the next level. Additional details are provided below, however these are not mandatory only a general description. Minimum Qualifications: Requires someone with HR leadership experieince in the construction industry. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent preferred, not required Minimum of eight to ten years of Human Resources experience required, PHR desired Knowledge of recruiting, employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits administration is required Excellent verbal and written communications skills required Ability to ensure privacy/confidentiality of all employee information required Ability to work effectively with HR systems and reporting Scope of Responsibility: Manage and guide overall Human Resource services, policies, and programs. The major areas are recruiting, performance management, training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefit administration, policy development, succession planning, employee services and counseling. Stay current with industry and human resources trends and practices, regulations and recommend action plans to address as necessary. Serve as Compliance Officer and responsible for compliance and training reporting to the president. Position Duties: Oversee recruiting process to ensure company policy compliance Oversee Training and Development Programs Manage and administer the annual appraisal process to ensure effective personal development plans are executed Responsible for the overall communication of human resource programs to employees. Prepares handbooks, manuals and other employee information Responds to questions and work with managers and employees to interpret and explain policies and procedures in our employee handbook or other associated issues Assists managers and employees in resolving compliance and performance issues to include the development of performance improvement plans Assists in the investigation, documentation and resolution of various employee relation issues Create and manage HR budget Manage EEO claims, coordinate with legal counsel and coordinate required legal actions to resolve issues Serve as the company’s 401(k) Plan Administrator and work with Fidelity as required to review investment options, plan changes, hardship withdrawals, nondiscrimination testing and all other fiduciary responsibilities Serve as Health and Welfare Plan Administrator to ensure all benefit plans are in compliance. Manage and administer benefit annual renewals Stay current with all federal and state requirements and regulations to include E-Verify, FMLA, ADA, etc. Work with employees, managers and benefit carriers to assist in resolving claims or other associated issues to include managing the short-term disability process Development and administration of the company’s affirmative action plan (AAP) and diversity programs. Ensure compliance with all employee/employment laws Interfaces with Joint Venture management as necessary to ensure smooth transitions between firm and Joint Venture companies for new hires, transfers, and terminations.
