Position Title: Retail Merchandiser

Location: Nampa, ID

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Category Manager, this position serves as a liaison between merchandising and operations, supporting the execution of corporate merchandising plans in stores. Interacts with store managers, district managers and merchandise execution specialist to maximize store and corporate gross profit generation. Works to promote the proper understanding and implementation of corporate merchandising strategy, resolution in problem areas and the communication of ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, support, and execute the implementation of corporate merchandising programs on a store and regional basis.
• Coaches and counsels store managers and territory managers on effective merchandising and marketing techniques. Assists in the re-merchandising of stores where needed and as directed.
• Identify successful new merchandising ideas and methods, which can be shared throughout the company to positively impact profitability. Conduct merchandise price surveys and observe competitors for changes in key categories as requested.
• Assists with the resolution of vendor problems at store or territory level communicating directly with local vendor representatives to improve the speed and results of the resolution process.
• Communicate problems and questions identified during field visits to regional leadership.
• Partner with store managers in the maintenance of plan-o-grams, order guides, shelf tags, and other areas as needed where field input is valuable in enhancing the outcome.
• Coordinate centralized merchandising efforts with respect to new store openings, remodels, rebranding and other store events.
• Support centralized merchandising and acts as a liaison in the field environment. Implement new programs and products at store level.
• Assist in the distribution of merchandising materials such as signage, during scheduled field visits.
• Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA’s POEMS policies and procedure.
• Follow and enforce all Parkland USA’s policies and established procedures.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must meet performance expectations. Must complete all duties as assigned
• Frequent travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2 or more years of experience working in a retail or merchandising environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Current valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel independently up to 75%
