Connecticut Appliance & Fireplace Distributors is Hiring a Field Sales Representative Near Southington, CT

Summary:

Sells appliances, hearth products, and outdoor living products to home builders, remodelers, kitchen dealers, architects, and the retail public over the telephone and in the showroom. Position requires calling on clients. Necessary hours must be dedicated to reach the sales and profit goals for the specific territory in which the candidate is responsible. Showroom hours are required to schedule customer appointments on weekdays and every Saturday with one scheduled day off during the week. There is a heavy concentration on hearth product sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Assists referral and walk-in customers with questions and purchases. Makes appointments with clients.

- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, dealer resellers, business directories, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

- Makes outbound lead follow up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone/e-mail to qualify leads, sell products, and services.

- Handles inbound sales lead calls.

- Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.

- Provides product demos to qualified customers on request.

- Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.

- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.

- Coordinates customer training.

- Builds and maintains customer relationships.

- Prepares business transaction reports.

- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

- Travels to and attends trade shows, training sessions, and seminars.

 - Attends a minimum one HBRA of Central CT social event each month after hours. 

- Performs related duties as required.

Requirements:

- Active Driver License.

- Computer Knowledge.

- Time Management /Scheduling.

- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Must be flexible and able to works on Saturdays.

Work Schedule:

Hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with one scheduled day off during the week. This individual is also expected to accommodate showroom hours on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Education and/or Experience:

A college degree and/or extensive experience in the premium home products field. Applicant must have several years’ experience and the ability to learn in an accelerated environment. The candidate must possess all the attributes of a truly professional salesperson and must also have an extensive sales resume of accomplishments with a verifiable work history.
