JOB SUMMARY :
Performs various laboratory procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
149;Performs phlebotomy procedures per protocol
149;Performs technical laboratory procedures in all areas of the lab including Microbiology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Hematology
149;Documents results in the LIS System
149;Performs Quality Control Procedures and follows through with corrective action as needed
149;Performs proficiency testing in the same manner as patient specimens
149;Maintains a policy and procedure manual in assigned area, as applicable
149;Performs preventative maintenance
149;Maintains sufficient working supplies to assure continued operations
149;Follows universal precautions and all other safety and health policies
149;Maintains the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient
149;Performs such related duties not listed herein but deemed in the best interest of the hospital
BENEFITS :
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE :
MT - Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
MLT Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
e., ASCP, AMT, HEW, etc. If an employee does not have a certification, they must have it within one year of hire
