The Workforce Employment Specialist is responsible for developing viable job opportunities within the Transportation & Logistics Industry to ensure clients in the Careers in Trucking programs secure employment after receiving their Class A (CDL-A) or Class B (CDL-B) License. The Workforce Employment Specialist will work closely with all students to create professional portfolios/job referral packets that include resumes, cover letters and all documents that are required by industry employers when considering new drivers for hire. The Workforce Employment Specialist will play a key role in monitoring job retention for all employed clients. Job retention is captured for a period of twelve months and data in this area should be entered into the agency’s data systems. This position will also support the Education and Workforce Services Division (EWS) at Congreso with building out programming and cultivating employer partnerships that will help in future expansion and ensure that the highest quality of workforce development services are offered to clients.

Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED/HISET required.
Minimum Experience:
1-3 years’ experience in a human services-related position required.
1-2 years' experience in working with individuals to help them get employed preferred.
Knowledge of the North Philadelphia community preferred.
