- 3-5 years of experience with young children, ages 1-4
- Experience with constructivist pedagogy and emergent curriculum
- 4 year education degree in education or 4 year degree in another area of study and the 90 hour Childcare Course. If 90 hour course is not complete, willing to begin the coursework in the first three months
- Creative, team player, excellent communicator, nurturing, dedicated, and flexible
- Set up, plan, and implement provocations, lessons and activities that are developmentally appropriate.
- Follow all school, synagogue, and requirements set by the Office of Childcare, MD State Department of Education.
- Support the children’s physical, emotional, and special needs.
- Ensure the safety of all children with proper supervision and care.
- Supporting the schools educational philosophy, values, Jewish content, and the children and families experience.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with team and leadership regarding the students, families and the classroom.
- Create and maintain documentation of student progress, incidents, and be familiar with all student needs and health issues.
- Participate in all team meetings and family programming assigned, beyond school hours.
- Physical ability to care and insure safety of all children including lifting, carrying, and running.
