Confidential is Hiring a Surgery Coordinator Near Fort Worth, TX

SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for scheduling new patient appointments, surgical cases/procedures, testing, and follow-up appointments for designated provider(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for provider(s) schedule and maintaining appropriate clinic speed and volume. Includes scheduling appointments for new and established patients, surgical cases, and required testing.
  • Responsible for entering appropriate documentation in patient management system.
  • Responsible for updating designated provider(s) schedule in various systems.
  • Responsible for professional telephone interactions. Includes accurate communication with patients, facilities, and surgical device representatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring diagnosis codes are in system before walking patient to check out.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient charts are ready and prepared for clinic at least 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment.
  • Maintain accurate information for patient records and ensure all documentation is entered in EHR consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for supporting Medical Assistant with phone calls, sending office notes to PCP and/or referring provider, and paging provider when needed for hospital calls.
  • Responsible for supporting Pre-Certification Specialist with denials and appeals.
  • Required to follow HIPAA and OSHA compliance guidelines at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One or more years’ experience in surgery scheduling preferred.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

No certification(s) required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, and e-mail.
