About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President Chief Development Officer (VP/CDO) to lead its fundraising and development efforts. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping the organization's future and expanding its impact on environmental and community health. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising and development, with a proven track record in major gift fundraising, and will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan. Key responsibilities include cultivating and managing relationships with major donors, overseeing capital campaigns, and ensuring that the organization meets its annual fundraising goals. The VP/CDO will also be involved in institutional stewardship, grant management, prospect research, and digital media and communications.Candidates for the VP/CDO position should possess exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, and experience in team management. Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and a passion for environmental and social causes are essential. The role requires a dynamic individual capable of elevating the organization's impact through innovative fundraising strategies and effective team and organizational management. Prior experience in international and fund development is preferred, and native-level or fluent Spanish language skills are strongly preferred. The position is fully remote and may involve domestic and international travel, including a visit to the Amazon Rainforest in Peru to experience the company's programming and become familiar with the organization's staff and fieldwork.
