Confidential is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Somerset, KY

Local office seeking to hire a fulltime Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate would possess prior payroll and payroll tax preparation experience, as well as having a general knowledge of payroll, tax and garnishment laws. Pay will be based on prior payroll processing experience.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Reconcile time sheet discrepancies and process payroll weekly, for multiple locations
  • Process and upload 401(k) files weekly
  • First point of contact for employees regarding time and payroll concerns
  • Data entry for all personnel transactions, including new hires and terminations
  • Update payroll records by reviewing and inputting changes in employee exemptions, insurance coverage, job titles, department/division transfers, etc
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Reconcile and submit all State and Federal payroll taxes
  • Process garnishments/child supports/wage levies
  • Reconcile monthly benefit statements
  • Maintain personnel files

Skills/Qualifications

  • Previous payroll and payroll tax preparation experience required (2 years)
  • Verifiable work history
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
