Ambitious Medical Biller/Collector for Surgery Practice

5 years of Medical Biller/Collector experience

• Charge Entry and Payment posting.
• Aging Accounts for Private, HMO, PPO, and government payers; WC and ASC experience a Plus
• Review explanation of benefits (EOBs) for payment accuracy and denials; Able to make corrections on errors without prompting or instruction from team members
• Prepare and review payer correspondence for what is required to get claims authorized and/or paid.
• Experience with Authorizations a plus
• Familiarity of (Surgery) CPT codes and proper use of Modifiers; Needs to be able to work well alone or with the billing team, rebilling corrected claims properly
• Understanding of PPO and Government payer guidelines/updates; Bundling edits, units, global periods, etc.
• Strong Appeals experience for Government/PPO payers; Prep and verbalize appeals according to guidelines and documentation for each payer
• Perform consistent follow up practices.
• Organizational skills and use of spreadsheets
• Ability to turn accounts around in a timely manner; Understanding of AR/aging reports, buckets and ability to create reports/spreadsheets
• Reporting to office manager as needed
• Capacity to work well under pressure with professionalism and courtesy; Proactive thinker, detail oriented
• Provide excellent professional customer service at all times, ability to explain details to patients when needed
• Ability to work well with others and able to communicate well with co-workers/team; Ability to receive constructive feedback and/or provided feedback for improvement and growth
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel/Word/Microsoft Outlook & Calendar
• Creating spreadsheets and/or agendas for billing meeting with manager and denial prevention

Salary DOE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
