Leading Freight Forwarding company is looking for a dynamic Lead Import Coordinator for their Seattle branch!

The Import Coordinator will facilitate the shipment of cargo via air transport. They are responsible for receiving shipping instructions and following customer specific guidelines in the preparation and transmission of export transactions. This includes processes from booking through confirmation of shipping.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prioritize and monitor the work flow for cargo movements to insure customer and vendor satisfaction.
• Ensure the timely movement of cargo from origin to destination to fulfill customer’s instructions and insure procedures for taking bookings are followed at all times.
• Make sure all freight forwarding activities abide by all government laws and regulations at origin and destination.
• Enter and update Flight Database, Customer Entry and Template records; and make sure the reports and records are complete, timely, and accurate.
• Build strong relationships with providers and help employees do the same. Notify employees of special relationships, agreements or pricing with specific service providers.
• Insure all claims are filed properly and necessary information is sent to claims department accurately and complete.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to obtain release documents in a timely manner to maximize productivity of the warehouse.
• Process claim paperwork timely and accurately with carriers.
• Make sure all import files provided to the warehouse are complete.
• Coordinate all necessary deliveries while maintaining our strict delivery guidelines.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the US and pass TSA background check.
• 1–2 years customer service experience in logistics (Preferred).
• Basic Computer Skills including e-mail, web browsing, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Strong grasp of geography to determine best freight forwarding routes.
• Customer service and vendor relations skills over the phone and in person
