Local Field Technician (Austin) – up to $35 per hour

Job Summary

This position will diagnose and repair various material handling equipment at customer sites.

Essential Functions

• Operate and inspect forklift equipment and components, and/or evaluate disabled Equipment to assess their condition and determine needed repairs
• Discuss equipment problems with customers, shop supervisor and/or others as needed
• Repair, replace, calibrate, adjust, and/or rebuild engine components
• Test repaired equipment for proper operation
• Perform pre-delivery inspections of new equipment
• Inspect, add and/or change fluids and lubricants; Diagnose and replace worn parts and perform other routine servicing and maintenance
• Read equipment manuals, service bulletins and other resources
• Attend training sessions as needed/required
• Maintain and update knowledge of equipment to be serviced
• Assist with ordering parts, materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance
• Record work performed, time and materials used for each job; complete timecards and maintain related work logs and records
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment and perform related duties as assigned in support of service department operations

Qualifications

• Technician experience with forklifts preferred but not required
• Will consider mechanical or electrical experience
• Attention to detail
• Maintains good work habits and presents a favorable business image towards customers
• Must have own tools
• Good driving record
• Excellent customer service/communication skills
• Basic computer skills

• Base pay range up to $35 per hour, based on experience
