About the Role

The Company is seeking a Director, Major Gifts to play a pivotal role in raising revenue to support its grantmaking and advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-level donors, supervising a team of major gift relationship managers, and working closely with the Associate Vice President for Development to create and implement strategies for donor expansion and diversification. This role involves collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to plan and execute the major gifts program, with a focus on generating new gifts from individuals. The Director will also be involved in supporting social change organizations in the Global South and advocating for policies that protect human rights.Candidates for the Director, Major Gifts position should have a strong background in fundraising and a proven track record of securing major gifts. The role requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team setting. Experience in philanthropy, advocacy, and a passion for social justice issues are highly valued. A Bachelor's degree is typically required, with a preference for candidates who hold an advanced degree or certification in a related field. The ideal candidate will be strategic, results-oriented, and committed to the mission of the organization.
