Requirements:

  • US work authorization (Required)
  • Framing and Drywall Construction Estimating: Minimum 3 years (Required)
  • Construction Estimating software experience (Required)
  • On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid experience (Preferred)
  • College Degree (Preferred)
  • Commercial construction: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Required Skills and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize service to clients and possess the ability to manage client expectations on preliminary and hard bid pricing
  • Ability to manage quick turn arounds and understand the level of (estimating) detail required on a project-to-project basis
  • Ability to pay attention to details to ensure full-scope coverage in bids
  • Efficient work ethics to be able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Team player to ensure that consistency between projects estimated within the team
  • Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge in On-screen take off and Quick Bid preferred
  • Perform all project functions and responsibilities in partnership with the company’s culture, corporate vision, ethics, and code of conduct
  • Proficient in reading and comprehending complex plans and specs
  • Ability to manage crews and materials
  • Reviewing and setting schedules

Pre-construction Services

  • Understand and manage on client expectations, based on site conditions and unusual contractual obligations prior to pricing
  • Attend pre-bid or pre-construction meetings and organize site visits for subcontractors as required
  • Carry out Value Engineering to assist clients in meeting their budgets in the most effective way

Project Estimating:

  • Review RFP, drawings, specifications, building requirements, and any other special requirements necessary to formulate a comprehensive scope of work
  • Identify any discrepancies and request clarifications to ensure submission of the valid and complete bid
  • Ensure timely completion of an estimate
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the clients, subcontractors, project managers, and team members to ensure full transparency on projects
  • Conduct formal project hand-off meeting with project management department for each project
  • Maintain project folder per company guidelines
  • Ability to respond to request bid criteria with detailed written responses

Budget tracking of materials and labor

Site-visits

Meeting with owners and general contractors
