Confidential is Hiring an Assistant Controller Near Exeter, RI

Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Assistant Controller should be experienced in all aspects of financial management, including partnership and corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the CFO with the management of all day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, and Payroll.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Assist with the development and evaluation of budgets and preparing budget reports.
  • Support the formulation and implementation of quality control systems over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Support the accounting department with all aspects of the general ledger.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Prepare and manage accounts using various software programs.
  • Prepare and assist with year-end reviewed statements.
  • Follow changes in regulations and compile reports regarding compliance issues, standards, and accounting practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience as an accountant, assistant controller, or similar role.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFM, or CMA preferred.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities.
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.
  • Strong and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge of accounting software programs – Great Plains is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,394.00 - $90,914.00 per year
