Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation is Hiring a Youth Services Manager (JL- 34524) Near Nespelem, WA

POSITION: Program Manager

SALARY: $34.55-$40.05 per hour, DOE

REPORTS TO: Employment &Education Director

LOCATION: Nespelem, Washington

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of Director of Employment and Education, Program Manager will develop, plan, coordinate and administer all functions of Youth Services Program to enhance academic and student success rates. Program Manager will be responsible for gathering and reporting data relevant to Colville students attending associated school districts within or near confines of the Colville Reservation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor Degree from accredited college or university on Education, Planning, Business, Sociology, Human Services, or Psychology, or other related discipline applicable to the requirements of this position and 60 months (5 years) of related experience working with children, youth and/or school administration, teaching, or court systems.
  • Requires a valid Driver’s License and must be eligible for the Tribes vehicle insurance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of challenges or barriers Colville youth are experiencing that prevent academic and student success as well as the indicators that are enhancing student success.
  • Knowledge of current Native education trends, best practices and policies impacting student success.
  • Knowledge of tribal organizational structure. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead program staff toward common goals.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, methods, procedures and automated systems.
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of computers and associated software, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Adobe Creative Suites and Final Cut Pro preferred).
  • Knowledge of grant opportunities and proven ability to successfully acquire grants.
  • Requires the ability to carry out all aspects of the position.
  • Requires the ability to develop and sequence budget preparation steps. Must be able to think critically and creatively.
  • Requires the ability to supervise, train, evaluate and motivate staff in a way that optimizes service.
  • Requires the ability to plan, organize and prioritize complex and technical work processes in order to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Requires understanding of, sensitivity to, and commitment to meeting the needs of individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Requires the ability to work cooperatively and productively with internal and external constituencies.
  • Requires the ability to advocate for shared governance, collegiality, staff cohesiveness and the core values of the institution.
  • Requires auditory ability to hear and respond to in-person and phone conversations, and give presentations to large audiences.

NOTE: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, this position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require pre-employment drug testing. This position is subject reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE EQUALLY QUALIFIED WITHIN EACH INDIAN PREFERENCE CODE.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
