Concrete Technology is Hiring a HR Recruitment & Training Coordinator Near Tacoma, WA

Concrete Technology Corporation is seeking a Human Resources Recruiting and Training Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for providing support in the areas of recruitment, training, employee administration, employee events, employee file maintenance, and other projects as needed.

This job will be Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with occasional weekend work for special events. Hours may vary depending on department needs. This position will be in office with NO remote working authorized. Attendance is a requirement to this position. Must be able to physically move around a 40-acre Manufacturing Plant safely and effectively. 

Roles & Responsibilities

Recruiting

  • Performs full cycle recruitment activities for union positions. Screens applicants, assessing skills, abilities and education to meet the requirements of the job opening(s). Seeks applicants through various resources including advertisements, website postings, contacting local employment agencies, attending job fairs, etc., and maintains records of all recruiting resources contacted.
  • Sources new leads for recruiting and establishes networking relationships.
  • Coordinates activities for work or job fairs and/or open houses for recruiting contacts and local employment resources.
  • Screens applicants, assessing skills, abilities and education to meet the requirements of the job opening(s).
  • Seeks applicants through various resources including advertisements, website postings, contacting local employment agencies, attending job fairs, etc., and maintains record of all recruiting resources contacted.
  • Provides guidance and input on workforce planning.
  • Administrates and Tracks new hire training in conjunction with operations, tool and PPE collection, production employee guide review, introduction to foreman/line working.

Recordkeeping and Data Maintenance

  • Assists and directs new hires in data collection and paperwork for HR Generalist and Payroll Administrator.
  • Maintains and builds relationships with stakeholders and community connections. Performs plant walk-arounds for employee engagement and coordinates employee recognition activities.
  • Responsible for departmental filing
  • Prepares and provides applications and/or other paperwork processes for prospective applicants or visitors
  • HRIS: With the assistance of HR team, enters new employees into HRIS and updates information as needed
  • Provides HRIS support and training for employees
  • Tracks employee anniversary dates and provides cards for President’s signature

Training

  • Trains new employees on company policies, CBA, safety, and other information.
  • Design and implement new hire trainings and annual employee trainings; harassment, bloodborne pathogens, etc.
  • Responsible for tracking and arranging with assistance from the Safety Supervisor required plant safety and equipment training
  • Coordinates with Plant Manager and Foremen to ensure employees’ required trainings are maintained
  • Works with vendors to ensure that employee certifications are up to date

Other Duties

    • Special Events: Assists with planning, coordinating, participating in all Company events, such as the annual Holiday Party, Holiday Meats, Summer Picnic/Derby, baseball tickets, Veterans Day Pizza Luncheon, open houses, and retirement parties, etc.
    • Provides backup for the HR Department.
    • Greets and assists all Human Resources visitors, salespeople, and applicants.
    • Performs messenger/mail service for all three buildings daily or as needed. Ability to climb stairs is a requirement.
    • Classroom: Responsible for making sure the classroom is prepared for meetings, onboarding, and presentations. Keeps schedule of events planned for the room
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education/Experience:

  • Valid driver’s license/insurance required.
  • At least five years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process is highly preferred.
  • An undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
