This position is part time for weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. OR 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The concierge is responsible for interacting in a courteous and friendly manner with guests, residents, staff and the public, answering phone calls, transferring calls, communicating with staff by cell phone/emails/etc., and creating and maintaining a high standard of quality first-impressions, and performing clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Assists residents with scheduling:
  1.  transportation services
  2.  dining services
  3.  submitting work order requests
  4.  making reservations for various community events
• Carries out telephone answering and reception duties as required.
• Screens and announces visitors to residents
• Types, assembles, copies, files and otherwise processes data required by the community in an accurate and timely manner
• Assists with the ordering and inventory of office supplies and equipment.
• Monitors security cameras as needed
• Monitors emergency response system and fire alarm panel during daytime hours
• Performs clerical duties for administration as directed
• Maintains high appearance standards in the foyer, front desk, and general office areas
• Maintains high personal appearance and customer service standards
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Educational Requirements and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting
• Exceptional customer service abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Language Ability:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the residents.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Cognitive Demands:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills:
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows. Ability to use software to design calendars and signs. Ability to use the Internet.
• Competencies (Example):
  • Ability to operate a car/truck and maintain a valid driver’s license. Ability to operate general office equipment.
