Overview of Role and Responsibilities:
Concordia Publishing House is looking for a company cafeteria cook. The cafeteria cook shift is Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are never evening or weekend shifts. The cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch to approximately 100 customers per day. The cafeteria cook sets the menu each week consisting of a main entrée and a side item and also recommends pricing for menu items with the goal of having the cafeteria break even.
This role is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking, soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods from recipes. Occasionally, the cafeteria cook will prepare items as requested for special meetings. The cafeteria cook position oversees keeping the kitchen work area, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly manner. This person will assist customers as they come through the serving line and may operate the cash register at times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to lift to 60 pounds on an occasional basis, and 20 pounds on a frequent basis. Working conditions are somewhat uncomfortable due to the heat, and the individual must work with extremely sharp equipment that could cause severe injury if used improperly. Must stand on your feet for extended periods of time. Non-slip shoes and food sanitation gloves are required. Must have close and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must occasionally walk, stoop, grasp, taste, smell, hear, and speak. Must be able to operate a cash register. The job requires reaching above the head, at shoulder level and below waist.
