Why Concord Direct: Want to feel good about the work you’re doing every day? You will be at Concord Direct. It’s our passion to help nonprofits exceed their goals, grow their direct response fundraising programs year-over-year, and help more people, animals, and habitats. As an employee, you’ll be proud of the work you’re doing to drive positive change in the world by empowering the work of our clients.

About This Position: We’re looking for an Account Director to serve as the primary contact for assigned direct mail clients. You’ll direct all interactions with the client, be the main point of contact for our internal team members and agency partners and manage the delivery of direct response fundraising campaigns from start to finish. We welcome applications from candidates across the country who are comfortable working 100% remotely. Please note that most of our clients work on Eastern Time and this should be a consideration.

We are looking for you to have experience with:

  • Program Management: Managing direct response campaigns and programs with a primary focus on direct mail.
  • Service and Client Orientation: Building relationships as the lead client-facing point-person in a fast-paced professional services agency environment.
  • Direct Response Knowledge: Understanding of direct response fundraising and marketing best practices, trends, and success metrics, particularly for direct mail programs.

Qualifications:

  • You will be a great fit for us if you possess at least six (6) years of experience in direct response marketing or fundraising and have experience leading direct mail programs and managing campaigns. Agency experience is required for this position. Prior experience in an Account Director role is ideal.

Your experience will mean:

  • You’re accountable. As a client-facing account owner, you show up to your clients as the face of the company – ensuring, at the end of the day, client expectations are met and delivered.
  • You’re incredibly organized. You’ve proven your ability to implement client strategy by overseeing the lifecycle of direct marketing and fundraising campaigns from kickoff to deployment.
  • Clients trust you. You’ve built positive relationships in a professional services agency environment. You can collaborate with clients because you appreciate it when they see you as the valued business partner they’ve come to depend on.
  • Colleagues rely on you. You’re a real team player on whom strategists, writers, designers, and production account managers can depend. And while you may not be an expert in each of their fields, you can talk the talk almost as easily as they can.
  • You’re motivated. You take immense pride in the collective impact your team makes for their nonprofit clients. You are a lifelong learner who is energized working with kind, invested, and hard-working people who are experts in their fields.

You’ll spend your days focused on:

  • Program Ownership: You’ll have a deep knowledge of the client’s overall program, strategy, and goals, and play a leading role in ensuring the client’s goals and expectations are achieved and communicated to the internal team, and the client’s statement of work is within budget and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Program Management: You’ll ensure the successful execution of direct mail fundraising campaigns from end-to-end, collaborating with data, creative, and production team members along the way to ensure the campaigns are within budget, on time, and meet client expectations. You’ll develop strategy briefs and data requests, oversee pricing quotes and billing, and track expenses and program performance against budget.
  • Communicating Internally: You’ll be very comfortable keeping colleagues up to date on client priorities, program issues, and potential roadblocks as campaigns progress, taking the initiative to problem-solve along the way with little direction. You’ll also be the go-to resource to clearly communicate feedback to internal resources, ensuring they are delivering the best possible product to meet the clients’ needs.
  • Communicating with Clients: You’ll engage in clear and frequent communication with the client regarding the scope of work, setting and resetting client expectations early and often, taking care to deliver relevant feedback, celebrating the wins, and even sharing information that may be difficult or disappointing.
  • Facilitating Meetings: You’ll kick off and guide client meetings, preparing agendas in advance to stay on track through discovery discussions, deliverable reviews, status calls, and quarterly strategic planning.
  • Growing Accounts: You’ll look for opportunities to improve our clients’ business and expand the work our team does to meet their needs.
  • Improving Processes: You’ll lend your voice to our process improvement efforts to ensure we are delivering the best possible product and experience to our clients.
  • Learning and Growing Professionally: Your growth mindset will be on full display, showcasing your interest in learning and adopting new marketing tactics in a constantly evolving field. You’ll also enjoy playing a role in educating our internal team and our clients about emerging trends.
