Concentric Corporation is currently seeking a talented Director of Application Development for our client in the Omaha area.

As the Director of Application Development, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software applications and solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. You will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and hands-on guidance to the application development team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in driving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the application development team, including software architects, developers, and engineers, to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, business leaders, and internal teams, to understand requirements, define project scope, and establish priorities for application development initiatives.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications and solutions, utilizing best practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
• Establish and maintain software development processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, while meeting quality standards and client expectations.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the application development team, promoting knowledge sharing, learning, and professional development.
• Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in application development, and recommend enhancements and improvements to optimize development processes and outcomes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, empowering them to grow their skills, achieve their potential, and contribute to the success of the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA) preferred.
• Proven experience in software development, with a focus on leading application development teams and delivering complex, enterprise-level solutions.
• Strong technical expertise in software architecture, design patterns, programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript), frameworks (e.g., Spring, .NET), and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience with modern development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members, build strong relationships, and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, with the ability to balance business objectives, technical requirements, and resource constraints.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to drive results, lead change, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within a high-performing team environment.
