Job Description:

Cape Fox Shared Service and Concentric Methods is seeking a Physician Assistant (Occupational Health) to work full time providing care to our deserving Air Force at Warner Robins AFB, GA

The Physician Assistant (Occupational Health) promotes and maintains health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.

  • Responsible for a regularly appointed clinic, compatible with workload up to 18 patient encounters per day, provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur on a walk-in basis
  • Shall have the capability to:
    • Collect and record, in proper format, medical, occupational and social historical data as appropriate to the patient's condition, perform a general physical exam, formulate a differential diagnosis, define and order required diagnostic testing
  • Interpret examination findings and test results to include electrocardiography (ECG), spirometry, audiometric testing, and mental health screening examinations for depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists
  • Approves/disapproves requests for subspecialty referrals, answers patient telephone consults with the assistance of clinical staff
  • Communicates with patients and off-base providers using appropriate written communication skills
  • Recognizes when more complicated cases require referral to a higher level of medical expertise for diagnosis and treatment
  • Identifies and reports those situations and individual cases which have public health significance and carries out effective control measures
  • Stabilizes and manages patient’s medical or surgical emergencies and/or transfers to a physician for care
  • Perform the following procedures: topical and local infiltration anesthesia, peripheral nerve block anesthesia, laceration repair (minor, one layer), irrigation of the eye, ear and wounds, fluorescein staining, splinting and stabilizing spine or extremity injuries, color vision testing, incision and drainage of cysts and minor abscesses, wound debridement.
  • Must be able to prescribe all medications, controlled substances (including Schedule II through V) and therapy regimens to include orthotics and prosthetics required within the scope of practice, recommend temporary limited duty profiles, and perform Occupational and Medical Surveillance program physical examinations in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Service Policy Requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Requirements:
  • Masters degree
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Have at least twenty-four (24) months of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last thirty-six (36) months
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant as required in the TO

Preferences and Requirements

  • Provide proof of immunization from the following diseases according to CDC guidelines: Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and influenza
  • Provide proof of a negative Tuberculosis Skin Test within 12 months (if positive, proof of negative chest X-ray within 12 months)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Able to use various programs, such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project to generate various products
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Sit or Stand throughout a regular work day
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with minimal oversight
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Some travel may be required
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
