CONAGRA is Hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Manager Near Indianapolis, IN

Conagra Brands - Indianapolis, home of Reddi Whip and Blue Bonnet, is looking to add to our team to help us meet the demands of our customers across the country. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will work onsite at the Indianapolis, IN manufacturing plant on West 62nd St. managing the plant Environment, Health and Safety programs to ensure operations minimizes the impact upon the environment and provide a safe and accident-free work environment. You will lead a team of employees who support our EHS programs and deliver programs to train managers and employees in work site safety and environmental practices. You will lead the development of our facility wide EHS culture through technical support, program development, and partnerships.

You Will:

  • Manage all aspects of environmental, health, safety and sustainable development programs.

  • Promote plant safety, environmental responsibility and sustainability stewardship by working with all departments to analyze current situation and recommend improvements.

  • Direct environmental compliance and performance functions following government regulations, corporate compliance guidelines and applicable environmental requirements.

  • Support accident investigations and prepare accident reports required by regulatory agencies.

  • Conduct inspections and audits in plant and at other facilities to detect existing or potential accident hazards and determine corrective or preventative measures.

  • Facilitate the Safety Committee process by active participation in the subcommittee process and being a resource for each group.

  • Administer initial Workers Compensation functions.

  • Direct necessary compliance training for all individuals to assure OSHA, EPA and Conagra training requirements.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years industrial safety experience

  • 3 Years of management experience

  • Understanding of and ability to interpret OSHA, EPA, DOT, federal and state regulations.

  • Experience performing risk assessments and audits.
