Position: Data Engineer Senior

Location: Remote Work

Duration: Fulltime with CompQsoft

Client: United States Coast Guard(USCG)

Security Clearance: DOD active secret clearance required.

Certifications: Must possess IAT-II Level certification.

Responsibilities:

• Assessing technology and preparing for cloud transformation/migrations
• Optimizing the architecture before, during, or after cloud migrations
• Operating databases on the cloud
• Implementing measures for cloud security
• Managing and optimizing the use of cloud resources
• Support migration of on-premises appliances to cloud based / virtual appliances.
• Have understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, WINS, and government networks.
• Ability to create, support, and engineer a data lake in a vendor cloud.
• Ability to ensure that data that resides in the cloud, data lake, and data verse is encrypted at rest.
• Ability to ensure that data that resides in the cloud, data lake, and data verse has appropriate authentication requirements implemented.
• Ability to ensure that data that is accessible from the internet and intranet with authentication and authorization controls set in place.
• Ability to create data lake that can support structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• The ability to support and/or create data lake is a unified repository for structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• Ability to create data lake to support sources such as event streaming data, operational and transactions data and databases.
• Ability to design, build and maintain the data pipelines that bring data into data lake and/or databases in Cloud environment.
• Ability to ensure that data lake is accessible by various stakeholders.
• Knowledge and ability to use data validation tools, processes, and / or procedures and document.
• Ability to ensure that the data that ingested in the data lake and data verse is authorized.
• Ability to ensure that the data extracted from the data lake can be transformed into the format that the requester requested.
• Possess the skill set to provision a data lake, data factory, and data verse for business intelligence and analytic tools.
• Works with current Database Management team to support as necessary.

Required Skills:

• The Candidate must possess the minimum Education / Qualifications:
• Minimum four (4) years of Cloud Data Engineering experience
• Experience in Cloud in a government environment
• Experienced in principles, practices, or procedures used in phases of life cycle applications and systems development, or engineering, or programming, or analysis.
• Certification: DP-203 Azure Data Engineer Associate Certification or Equivalent.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or associate degree (A.A./A.S.) in a related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification.
• This is an IAT-II Level/PU Position. MUST possess CompTIA SEC or equivalent.
• Must possess Active Secret Clearance
• Candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Candidate must possess strong oral communication and written comprehension capabilities.
