REGISTERED NURSE
Job Summary: Provides skilled nursing and case management to clients, following physicians orders and in coordination with other team members.
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor, Branch Manager, Branch President
Responsibilities:
1. Is compliant with all policies, procedures, and regulations set by the Federal and State governments, the agency, and other regulatory agencies, i.e. OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, licensure and labor laws.
2. Coordinates client care with Case Managing RN, team members and Clinical Supervisor.
3. Evaluates client nursing needs and develops a plan of care and goals appropriate to the findings, per physicians orders
4. Participates in in-services, meetings, and case conferences as required
5. Instructs client and family in the plan of care, and refers to community resources as necessary
6. Revises and updates nursing plan of care and goals as appropriate, with physician approval
7. Informs physician and Clinical Supervisor of changes in the client’s condition
8. Completes and submits all appropriate clinical documentation timely per agency policy
9. Maintains strict confidentiality of information relating to clients, employees, and the agency
10. Promotes customer satisfaction for all clients, employees, and visitors to the agency
11. Follows the agency’s Code of Ethics and Clients Rights
12. Approaches tasks with a positive and flexible attitude and practices team behaviors
13. Participates in after-hours, holiday and weekend “on call” rotations as assigned.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor or Branch President
15. Maintains continuing education as required by state licensure standards and provides documentation of same.
Job Requirements:
1. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and agency policies and procedures
2. Competent in the provision of skilled nursing, including evaluation and assessment
3. Knowledge of community resources
4. Current CPR training/card; current professional liability insurance
5. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred) and current licensure by the state of Colorado
6. 1 yr experience as a registered nurse, with home care experience preferred
7. Able to use a computer, telephone and voice mail, fax machine.
8. Able to use personal protective equipment, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, venipuncture equipment, pulse oximeter, glucometer, infusion equipment and pumps
9. Able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, including writing or typing notes legibly
10. Able to travel to client’s homes and to work in unpredictable home environments
11. Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted and walk or navigate
12. Able to hear and observe client during treatment
13. Able to effectively teach client and family
14. Able to demonstrate team behaviors, effective time management skills, customer service skills, and leadership ability
Supervision:
Licensed Practical Nurses and field supervision of Certified Nurse Assistants and Personal Care Providers
