Job Description:

As the Survey Party Chief at Complete Design, Inc., you will be responsible for leading and managing survey field crews, overseeing on-site surveying operations, and ensuring the collection of accurate and reliable data. Your expertise in surveying techniques, equipment, and leadership will be crucial in delivering high-quality surveying solutions to our clients. Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Survey Field Crew during land surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying instruments and equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
• Establish and verify survey control points and benchmarks to ensure precise data collection.
• Review survey data, field notes, and sketches to ensure accuracy and completeness before office processing.
• Collaborate with office staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient project coordination.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Survey Field Crew, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
• Assist in the preparation of survey reports, maps, and legal descriptions for project deliverables.
• Conduct regular equipment maintenance and calibration to maintain optimal surveying performance.
• Continuously improve surveying techniques and knowledge through professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• 4 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief, leading surveying field operations, preferably in a private land surveying firm.
• Extensive knowledge of surveying techniques, instruments, and GPS technology.
• Proficiency in using surveying software and data processing tools.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor surveying staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and challenging terrains.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to survey locations.
